My Journey on The World Cook
Hello, I’m Justin Jennings, the proud winner of the first season of The World Cook (2022), a thrilling culinary competition that took me across stunning global destinations, from the UK to Europe and a grand finale in Mexico's Playa del Carmen.
As an Australian chef and owner of Downunder by Justin Jennings in Lisbon, I brought my passion for bold, modern fusion flavors to the show, blending Australian, Asian, and South Pacific influences. My signature dish, kangaroo tartare, showcased my heritage and culinary style, helping me stand out among 16 talented international chefs. This victory was a career highlight, earning me the title of The World Cook and the honor of having a restaurant named after me at TUI’s Blue El Dorado Seaside Suites Hotel in Mexico, where my winning dish was added to the menu.
