Air Fryer Sweet Potato Chips Recipe for 4 People

Ingredients:

- 2 large sweet potatoes, washed and scrubbed

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- Sea salt, to taste

- Optional: Ground cinnamon or paprika for added flavour variation

Instructions:

1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

2. Using a sharp knife, cut the sweet potatoes into uniform fries.

3. In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato with olive oil, ensuring each piece is well coated.

4. Working in batches, place the sweet potato in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to allow for even cooking.

5. Cook the sweet potato fries in the air fryer for about 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are crisp and golden.

6. As the chips come out of the air fryer, sprinkle them with sea salt to taste. For a delightful twist, you can also dust them with ground cinnamon or paprika for added flavour variation.

7. Serve the Air Fryer Sweet Potato fries immediately and savour the balance of sweetness and crunch that elevates this humble root vegetable to a gourmet delight.

Equipment Needed:

- Air fryer

- Sharp knife

- Large bowl for tossing the sweet potato slices

Commonly Made Mistakes and Points of Care:

1. Uniform Cutting: To ensure even cooking, try to make the sweet potato batons are as uniform as possible in thickness. This can be easily achieved using a sharp knife.

2. Even Coating with Oil: Properly coat each sweet potato peice with olive oil to ensure that they become crispy and evenly browned during air frying.

3. Avoid Overcrowding: Work in batches and arrange the sweet potato in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking and hinder the fries from achieving their desired crispiness.

4. Air Fryer Temperature and Timing: Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the sweet potato and the specific air fryer model. Keep a close eye on the fries to prevent overcooking, as they can quickly go from crisp to burnt.

5. Seasoning: Sprinkle the sweet potato fries with sea salt or your desired seasoning immediately after they come out of the air fryer, while they are still warm. This ensures that the flavours adhere well to the chips.
